Please open the Security & Privacy pane in System Preferences and select the FileVault tab. Below are some possible causes for the condition. The kernel is using excessive processor cycles. I am not extremely Mac savvy, so please tell me if I can provide any other useful information. I leave the computer off at all times except to make an occasional attempt. I tried running the 2minute apple diagnostics (held D at start) diagnostics said nothing was wrong. I tried starting in safe mode, kernel eventually worked its way up to 200% again. I uninstalled any software that I felt had any possibility of causing an issue. I deleted everything from my startup programs. I have not seen the blue hue change in over a week. When I first began typing this post it was at ~5% with no fans running, now it is at ~240% with fans running. I eventually recognized that "kernel_task" was running 200-300% CPU. But I have no idea why it would be overheating. I then noticed the screen color would occasionally change a hue of blue, I presumed it was related to the fan issue, possibly overheating. The problem began when I noticed the fan was running constantly, despite me not running any memory demanding programs. I didn't purchase the extended apple coverage because I didn't expect to have an issue so quickly with my light usage. It has been extremely lightly used, less than 10 hours per week. It was purchased new from the apple store in late 2013 or early 2014.
